Imagine Nation Books Recalls Pink Giraffe Purse for Excessive Lead Paint

Imagine Nation Books has issued a recall on its pink Giraffe Animal Purse due to lead paint on its zipper in excess of federal lead paint standards.  The purse resembles a pink stuffed animal giraffe with brown spots and a red zipper down its back.  The purses were sold at Imagine Nation Books dealers nationwide at book fairs held at corporate offices and hospitals from July 2014 through March 2015.

Consumers are urged to immediately take the recalled purses away from young children and contact Imagine Nation Books www.booksarefun.com or 800-917-0213 for a full refund.

Lead is a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and/or other reproductive harm.  Companies offering products for sale that contain lead must provide consumers with a Proposition 65 warning of the risks of exposure.

The Chanler Group represents citizen enforcers who, acting in the public interest, commence actions against businesses offering products for sale in California that contain chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm without first providing the health hazard warning required by Proposition 65. Citizen enforcers bringing Proposition 65 actions in the public interest may obtain a Court Judgment imposing civil penalties, an injunction requiring reformulation of products, and/or provision of health hazard warnings
