TCG Managing Attorney Josh Voorhees to Speak at Prop 65 Conference

Managing attorney Josh Voorhees will be speaking Monday at Proposition 65 Clearinghouse's annual Prop. 65 Conference, which is being held this year at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in downtown San Francisco.  Environmentalists, researchers, representatives from California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, and lawyers will meet to discuss Proposition 65 compliance, current and future legislation, and the science behind Proposition 65.

Mr. Voorhees will be on an afternoon plenary session titled Prop. 65 Case Study: Flame Retardant Chemicals and What We Can Learn From the Furniture Industry, discussing how the furniture industry reacted to the listing of TDCPP and California's revision of TB-117, the lessons learned, and how effective the legislation has been in removing the chemical from furniture products.

The Chanler Group represents citizen enforcers who, acting in the public interest, commence actions against businesses offering products for sale in California that contain chemicals known to cause cancer or reproductive harm without first providing the health hazard warning required by Proposition 65. Citizen enforcers bringing Proposition 65 actions in the public interest may obtain a Court Judgment imposing civil penalties, an injunction requiring reformulation of products, and/or provision of health hazard warnings. The Chanler Group has represented citizen enforcers of Proposition 65 for more than twenty years.
