Citizen enforcer Michael DiPirro and Du-Bro Products, Inc. entered a settlement agreement on June 30, 2000, which resolved DiPirro's allegations that Du-Bro Products sold balancing products and weights containing the heavy metal lead in the State of California without providing the requisite health hazard warnings.

As part of the settlement agreement, Du-Bro Products, Inc. agreed to place Proposition 65 health hazard warnings on the covered products as well as products that are substantially similar.

The settlement agreement required payments of $7,800, to be divided therein between civil penalties, 75% of which are paid to California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, and compensation to whistleblower DiPirro and his counsel for their successful enforcement of this matter in the public interest.
