Citizen enforcer Michael DiPirro and defendant Slide Products, Inc. reached a settlement in the form of a Consent Judgment that was executed on November 22, 2002, in DiPirro v. Slide Products, Inc. The settlement resolved DiPirro's allegations that Slide Products sold cleaning and degreaser products containing the toxin trichloroethylene in the State of California without providing the requisite health hazard warnings.

As part of the settlement agreement, Slide Products agreed to provide all of the distributors of the covered products with Proposition 65 health hazard warning information letters after the effective date and every year after that. Slide Products also agreed to provide warning stickers to any distributor who states that it sells or intends to sell the covered products in California.

The Consent Judgment requires settlement payments of $5,200, to be divided therein between civil penalties, 75% of which are paid to California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, and compensation to whistleblower DiPirro and his counsel for their successful enforcement of this matter in the public interest.
