John Moore and Laurence Vinocur have issued almost two dozen new 60-Day Notices of Violation of Proposition 65 last month, to companies offering products such as napkin rings, tub treads, and tool bags in California that contain chemicals known to the State to cause cancer and/or reproductive harm without the requisite health hazard warning. Moore and Vinocur allege that the companies’ products contain the phthalate chemical DEHP and/or the heavy metal lead, which are known to the State of California to cause birth defects and/or other reproductive harm. Noticed companies include Boss Holdings, The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, and Stanley Black & Decker.
